so i'm not sure if i am going to follow through with this, but i would really like to throw a couch warming party.
"a couch what?!" you say. a couch warming, like an apartment or house warming, but for a couch instead. see i moved into my place back in november. it's now march. it's been a bit too long to have a party welcoming myself and my friends to my new apartment. but i will be receiving my couch in two weeks time, so i can have a couch warming, welcoming it and my friends to my apartment.
yeah, i know i'm weird. but i'm working on an idea for an invite. and i still haven't had my friends over (i don't have anywhere for them to sit). plus it's my birthday in a week, so all these circumstances have converged making it an ideal time to have a party.
not that i know how to throw a "grown-up" party. no kegs. no drinking games. no crazy crashers or police. not that i threw those kind of parties in college, but those were the only parties i attended. my thought for a grown-up party is to supply one type of booze (wine or whatever) and lots of food (so people are less likely to make drunken asses of themselves) and invite all the lovely professional people i know now (and a few crazy hold-outs for my college days). sounds like a good time could be had by all. now if only i can convince them to head all the way out to my neighborhood.

life - down and out
been down and out the past couple of days. sorry about it.
last monday started well then quickly fell to one of the worst. many minor things converged at once to become a total disaster.
it was the start of reorganizing my new library account. it's been months since anyone has done any work there, and i was supposed to put in tons of extra hours to get back to date.
i woke up with cramps and a cough. the cramps were expected; the cough was not. i guess my boyfriend's friend who was visiting last week left it behind.
then mid-morning, the stomach ailment that i've spent the past nine years and more specifically the past weekend beating into submission decided to wreak further havoc.
talk about a shit day. i was supposed to work 8 hours; i ended up working 5 (and barely that). i couldn't think straight or eat. i was a disaster.
i went home as soon as i could and passed out. now i have almost completely recovered and am heading out into another work week. here's to hoping it's better than the last.
