organizing king

tom sachs. i've never heard of this artist before but a former teacher of mine blogged about his studio and the wonderful makeshift furniture he had about the studio. when i clicked over to the link, i was more impressed with the intensity of his organizational skills. often he seems to create custom wood holders for a variety of items. and there's a copious amount of labeling. now this is completely understandable. real estate and storage space is a scarce commodity in nyc, so you do with what you got and you use it to its utmost.
