wedding dress

not my wedding, and not that kind of dress.

i bitched a while ago about having to attend my cousin's wedding. and about what i was going to wear to it. the old navy dress became impossible to find and just a tad too casual. apparently most of the family were going in black cocktail dresses. out i went on the hunt again. a full two days of searching in NY and i found nothing. seriously. nothing.

then after coming back to chi-town i went shopping again along state street, mostly to see if that old navy dress was still available. it was not. but i progressed down the street. one idea was to find an appropriate dress. the other was to buy a theory dress skirt (which i've been dreaming about for ever) and a cheap blousey top. onto filene's basement to find a theory skirt on discount. nothing theory in stock. booo!!! but i did find a cute dress by industry. i had to leave it there while i contemplated the use of funds, the amount i liked the dress, and the appropriateness of it. two weeks later and four days before the wedding i decided to head back and see if it was still available, take pictures, and get my mom's input. since she no longer has a cell phone i couldn't just send her a picture message. no i had to bring my point and shoot camera and make a side trip to the library to email the pictures to her. *this side trip took a ridiculous amount of time.* but i ended up getting it. what do you think of it? i'm sad to say that it didn't pass the sit test, which i didn't do in the dressing room. otherwise i still love the dress.
*i bought the blue one.*
